Here’s a house with gardens on all
three levels designed by Singaporean studio Guz Architects on Santosa
Island, Singapore. The Sky Garden House includes a large stone-lined
swimming pool that can be viewed from inside the building at basement
level through a large glazed window. A staircase with a glass balustrade
and wooden steps snakes across the stairwell. The curved roof at the
top is also covered in grass and affords views of the bay beyond.

the architects: sky garden house this house is located on a new
housing estate on the island of Sentosa adjacent to singapore. The plots
are not large and neighboring buildings are built close to the sides of
each house. Thus our strategy was to build a solid wall to each side
neighbor to provide privacy where possible, while creating a central
light and stair well which would funnel the sea breeze through the
center of the building. The front and rear of the building meanwhile,
terrace back allowing each storey to have visual or actual access to
greenery. The intention was to try to allow each roof garden provided a
base for the storey above allowing the layered effect to make each
storey feel like it was a single storey dwelling sitting in a garden.as
much as we could do in the close confines of Sentosa island and with

A New Luxury Housing Concept: Sky Condos by DCPP Arquitectos
Located in a privileged area in the city of Lima with views towards the golf course, DCPP Arquitectos creates an icon for the future in their design for a new luxury housing concept in Latin America. According to the architect: “Each one with a clear individuality using the privative exterior spaces as our main core. We believe that an apartment shouldn’t lack exterior spaces; this is why our main space in each apartment is the exterior public area which contains the pool and a series of terraces that bring dynamism to the whole tower. These terraces fill the apartment with natural light and create a game of lights and shadows.”

Moon Shape Skyscraper
With the ambitions of civil engineers flying high and high, Korean Heerim Architects has tried to reinvent the skyscraper with their two projects in central Asian republic of Azerbaijan. They have proposed a skyscraper to be built in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan with a view on the Caspian sea. The name of one of the building is proposed as Full Moon Bay and the other is Crescent and Caspian Plus.

Skywalk – Glass Bridge
Skywalk commonly known as The Glass Bridge is one of
the aspiring civil engineering project which shows the unmatched
thinking of civil engineers.The construction of this glass bridge
started in March 2004 .Glass Bridge will be suspended 4,000 feet above
the Colorado River on the very edge of the Grand Canyon. In 2005, it
was tested for its structural ability and the results were really very
good. It passed all its engineering requirements by 400 percent and
therefore the total load which this glass bridge is able to withstand
is equal to the weight of 71 fully loaded Boeing 747 airplanes which is
more that 71 million pounds. The bridge will be able to sustain winds
in excess of 100 miles per hour from 8 different directions, as well as
an 8.0 magnitude earthquake within 50 miles. It is said that more than
one million pounds of steel was used in the construction of the Grand
Canyon sky walk.

2) The building’s most astonishing feat however, was the speed in which it rose into the New York City skyline.
3) Construction was completed in only one year and 45 days, without requiring overtime.
4) Ironworkers set a torrid pace, riveting the 58,000-ton frame together in 23 weeks.
5) While just below them, masons finished the exterior in eight months, and plumbers laid 51 miles of pipe and electricians installed 17 million ft. of telephone wire.
6) The building was so well-engineered that is was easily repaired after a bomber crashed into it in 1945.
